Ingredients

Scale

For the Flan:

  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk (or milk of your choice)
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • ¼ cup hazelnut spread
  • 4 oz dark chocolate (melted)

For Garnishing:

  • Fresh strawberries (sliced)
  • Blueberries
  • Pomegranate arils
  • Fresh mint leaves

Instructions

  • Prepare the Flan Mixture:
    • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • In a blender, combine eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, vanilla extract, hazelnut spread, and melted dark chocolate.
    • Blend until smooth and well incorporated.
  • Prepare the Heart-Shaped Ramekins:
    • Lightly grease the heart-shaped ramekins with butter or non-stick spray.
    • Pour the chocolate flan mixture evenly into the ramekins.
  • Bake the Flan:
    • Place the ramekins in a large baking dish and fill the dish with hot water halfway up the sides of the ramekins (this ensures gentle, even cooking).
    • Bake for 40–45 minutes, or until the flan is set but slightly jiggly in the center.
    • Remove from the oven and let cool completely before refrigerating for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  • Unmold & Garnish:
    • Run a knife along the edges of each ramekin and carefully invert onto serving plates.
    • Garnish with strawberries, blueberries, pomegranate arils, and fresh mint.
  • Serve:
    • Serve immediately or chill for a few more hours to make it extra refreshing!

Notes

  • For an extra touch, you can drizzle melted chocolate over the top just before serving.
  • This dessert can be prepared the day before to save time on the day of serving.
