  • 2 cups buttermilk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 5 cups cooking oil, for frying
  • 4 medium potatoes, cut into fries
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 4 slices bread

Instructions

  1. Heat cooking oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  2. In a large bowl, whisk together buttermilk and eggs.
  3. Add chicken tenderloins and marinate for at least 30 minutes.
  4. In another bowl, combine flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, and breadcrumbs.
  5. Remove chicken from marinade and coat each piece thoroughly in the flour mixture.
  6. Fry chicken in batches for 5 to 6 minutes until golden brown and fully cooked.
  7. Fry potatoes separately until crispy and golden.
  8. Mix mayonnaise, ketchup, and Worcestershire sauce in a small bowl to create the dipping sauce.
  9. Toast bread slices until lightly golden.
  10. Serve chicken fingers hot with fries, toast, and dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Marinate the chicken overnight for extra tenderness.
  • Do not overcrowd the frying pan.
  • Use a wire rack after frying for crispier texture.
  • Panko breadcrumbs can be used for extra crunch.
