These Melt-in-Your-Mouth Butter Cookies are incredibly soft, buttery, and lightly sweetened with powdered sugar. The perfect treat to satisfy your sweet tooth with minimal effort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (226g) unsalted butter, softened
  • ½ cup (100g) powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 ¾ cups (220g) all-purpose flour
  • ¼ cup (30g) cornstarch
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • Optional: Granulated sugar for coating

Instructions

  • Prepare the Dough:
In a bowl, beat the softened butter and powdered sugar until light and fluffy. Add the vanilla extract and mix until well combined.

  • Mix Dry Ingredients:
Sift together the flour, cornstarch, and salt. Gradually add this mixture to the butter mixture and mix until a soft dough forms.

  • Chill the Dough:
Shape the dough into a log, wrap it in plastic wrap, and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes.

  • Slice & Bake:
Preheat the oven to 325°F (160°C). Slice the chilled dough into ½-inch rounds and place them on a lined baking sheet. Optionally, sprinkle with granulated sugar for a sweet touch. Bake for 12–15 minutes, or until the edges are slightly golden.

Notes

  • These cookies are best stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
  • You can roll the dough log in granulated sugar before slicing for extra sweetness and crunch.
