A rich and creamy whipped hot chocolate with fluffy chocolate mousse-like topping layered over icy cold milk for the ultimate café-style chocolate drink.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons instant hot cocoa mix
  • 1 tablespoon granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate syrup
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup ice cubes
  • Whipped cream, optional topping
  • 1 tablespoon chocolate shavings


Instructions

  1. Chill a mixing bowl and beaters for 10 minutes before starting.
  2. Add heavy whipping cream, cocoa powder, instant hot cocoa mix, sugar, and chocolate syrup to the chilled bowl.
  3. Use an electric mixer to whip the mixture until thick and fluffy peaks form.
  4. Fill serving glasses with ice cubes and cold whole milk.
  5. Spoon the whipped chocolate mixture generously over the milk.
  6. Top with whipped cream and chocolate shavings if desired.
  7. Serve immediately and stir slightly before drinking.

Notes

  • Use very cold heavy cream for the fluffiest topping.
  • Sift cocoa powder before mixing to avoid lumps.
  • Freeze serving glasses for extra chill.
  • Add a pinch of sea salt for deeper chocolate flavor.
