These light and citrusy muffins are bursting with fresh orange flavor, perfect for breakfast or a midday treat!
Ingredients

For the Muffins:
- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour
- ¾ cup granulated sugar
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- Zest of 2 oranges
- ¾ cup fresh orange juice (about 2 oranges)
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted (or vegetable oil for a lighter version)
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- ½ cup plain Greek yogurt or sour cream
- ½ cup mini chocolate chips or chopped nuts (optional)
For the Glaze (Optional):
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 2-3 tablespoons fresh orange juice

Preheat & Prep
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a muffin tin with paper liners or lightly grease it. -
Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, and orange zest. -
Mix Wet Ingredients
In another bowl, whisk the orange juice, melted butter, eggs, vanilla, and Greek yogurt until smooth. -
Combine
Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring gently until just combined. (Don’t overmix!) -
Add Extras
If using chocolate chips or nuts, fold them in. -
Fill Muffin Cups
Divide the batter evenly among the muffin cups, filling each about ¾ full. -
Bake
Bake for 18-22 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. -
Cool & Enjoy
Let the muffins cool for 5 minutes in the pan, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Optional Glaze (for extra zing!): Mix 1 cup powdered sugar with 2-3 tablespoons fresh orange juice until smooth. Drizzle over cooled muffins.
